Home Charger Installation FAQs

How much does it cost to install an EV charger at home?

The price of your installation depends on a few factors: the cost of the charge point itself, the distance between the charger and your property’s power supply, and any additional parts needed. In some cases, a new consumer unit with surge protection is required, which adds around £100.

If you are a home owner, you’ll need approval from your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) before your home EV charger installation can take place. We will do this on your behalf as part of your installation. If you rent your property, you will need approval from both your area’s DNO and your landlord before we can proceed with your installation.

The best place to install your home EV charger is on a wall close to where you park so that your charging cable can reach your car’s charging port.

In most cases, we aim to have your home EV charger up and running within 1 to 4 weeks after the site survey has been approved and deposit has been made.

In most cases a home EV charger installation will take around two hours. This may vary depending on the complexity of your installation.
